Cybercrime is likely to increase even more in 2015, creating inevitable issues for all types and sizes of business from law firms and accountancy practices through to major financial service organisations. However, with Redscan’s ongoing investment in new security solutions and services, our customers can feel somewhat more relaxed in face of the New Year’s new threats. At a time when we wish everyone a ‘Happy New Year’, we know that, in fact, it could well be a ‘Challenging New Year’ for many. We may not know exactly what the New Year will bring, but we should certainly expect the unexpected when it comes to cybercrime. 2014 saw a huge increase in complex and evasive threats, and there is every reason to assume that the torrent of attacks on businesses – from small enterprises to large global organisations – will continue. Despite this somewhat gloomy outlook, Redscan’s customers can be confident about the year ahead. Following a period of major investment and service enhancement during 2014, our security solutions are as robust and comprehensive as ever, providing a formidable layer of defence. During the course of last year, many customers benefited from the newly available Redscan Service Delivery Platform, which replaced the previous Network Box system. Redscan also made several key enhancements to its technology and services, enabling it to launch new and improved offerings for customers. Some of these security enhancements include: • The integration of best-in-field technologies from vendors including SourceFire, Webroot, Spamhaus, Kaspersky, Cyren, ClamAV, Brightcloud, SpamAssassin, SURBL and Spamcop • For customers opting for on-premise solutions, new flexible and cost effective appliances based on Dell hardware • A host of added features giving customers greater control and security, such as Application Control, SSL scanning, Secure Override and a new Youtube for schools offering • Deepening intelligence about threats such as zero-day malware attacks, thanks to the addition of GCHQ, FBI and Open Threat Exchange data to our global threat intelligence network • ThreatDetect, a new service that proactively identifies suspicious behaviour more cost effectively than traditional monitoring solutions • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Log Management both stand alone and as a service • A range of penetration testing services including ethical hacking to help customers identify potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses in their systems • An expanded team of security experts in the UK with certifications including CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISA, CISM, CEH, OSCP, OSWP, Prince II & CREST During 2015, we will be continuing to invest in our IT security solutions and plan to introduce, among other enhancements, an improved user portal, new reporting capabilities and ThreatPrevent, a cloud-based firewall, intrusion detection system and breach detection system. So, with all that in mind, we can confidently wish our customers a ‘Happy New Year’.
